Frequently asked questions
What people ask us most about booking, hosting, getting paid and traveling with minors.

Booking a bed
How do I book a bed?
You request, they accept, and only then you pay.
- Place, sport and tournament or event — or a training trip —, dates and how many are coming.
- As a list and on the map, with the distance to the venue. Sort by distance or price, and filter by spots and gender preference.
- The request opens the chat with the host, so you can sort things out before committing.
Do I have to be the one competing to book?
You don't have to be the one competing.
- Athletes
- Coaches
- Companions
- Trip organizers
- Family and guardians
- Those coming to cheer
You book and say how many are coming: companions don't need an account.
When do I pay?
The host has 24 h to accept. Only then does payment open, and you have 24 h to pay.
Once confirmed, the exact address and each other's details are shared. At the end you both leave a review.
Who can host you
Who can host me?
Someone who lives in that city, or a place in town with spare beds. You don't have to be an athlete to host.
- Local athletes competing in the same tournament or event
- A local with a spare room
- A family who has hosted people from the circuit before
- A club with dorms or rooms for visitors
- A hotel or a guesthouse in the area
- Whoever organizes the group's trip and has room
What if my host plays my own tournament?
They know the schedule, the venue and how to get there. Every listing says upfront whether you are staying with a club, a hotel, a neighbor or someone competing alongside you.
Publishing your beds
How do I publish my beds?
You publish your place from “Publish”. The price, the photos and how many beds you offer are yours to set.
- You publish your place: how many beds, photos and the nightly price you set.
- Add daily breakfast if you want, at the price you choose.
- You choose who you take in: you accept or decline every request, always.
- You add your bank details (CBU or alias) once. Without them the listing doesn't go live.
- You get paid after check-out, minus the commission; PlayInn covers the cost of processing the payment.
Can I choose who I take in?
The host accepts or declines every request, and each of you can choose who you host or whose home you stay in: women only, men only, or no preference.
Payments, commission and payouts
What happens to my money while the booking runs?
You pay inside the app and the money is held until after check-out. If you open a claim, the release is paused until it's resolved.
It's released to the host after check-out. If something goes wrong, there's still something to resolve it with.
Is the price I see what I pay?
The total is the accommodation plus a 3% service fee, itemized before you confirm.
The service fee is PlayInn's charge for handling the booking and the protected payment. The accommodation price is always per spot, per night.
What do I get back if I cancel?
It depends on how far away check-in is, calculated over the minimum stay.
- More than 14 days before: we refund 100%.
- Between 7 and 14 days: we refund 75%.
- Between 48 hours and 7 days: we refund 50%.
- Under 48 hours or a no-show: no refund.
Unused extras are always refunded. If the host cancels or the tournament or event changes, we refund 100%.
How do I get paid as a host?
Payments are held safely by the platform and transferred to your CBU or alias after each stay. You just add your bank details once.
You get paid after check-out, minus the commission; PlayInn covers the cost of processing the payment.
What if I head home earlier than planned?
You flag that you're cutting the stay short and the nights you didn't use come back to you. Nobody has to chase anybody.
What are points?
Every stay adds points, and points become discounts on future bookings.
Traveling with a minor
Can a minor have an account?
At youth tournaments or events it's the kid who travels, but the account, the booking and the coordination belong to the adult. Minors never have their own account.
What do I need to travel with a minor?
You book, declare the minor in the request and upload the paperwork.
- You book and declare the minor in the request.
- You upload the paperwork: the minor's ID plus a birth certificate or family book if you're the mother or father, or a signed authorization if you're a guardian.
- The booking can be confirmed while the review is pending, but check-in requires it approved.
Does the host see the minor's documents?
The PlayInn team reviews it. The host never sees those documents: their screen just says “Verified family”.
Trust: reviews, reports and chat
How do reviews work?
Both sides rate each other and reviews publish once both have written, or after 14 days. A host's cancellations stay visible on their profile.
What do I do if something goes wrong?
You can report someone, block them — and undo it whenever you want — and, if the place wasn't what was published, open a claim with photos: the host's payment is frozen until it's resolved.
When do I see the exact address?
You coordinate inside the app. Until the booking is confirmed the chat filters out phone numbers and emails; on confirmation it stops filtering and the exact address is revealed.
